Freemen's School Association (FSA)

Throughout the year there are information evenings and parents’ evenings, and parents can make individual appointments to see the teaching staff. Parents are also always warmly invited to attend concerts, sports fixtures and other School events.

The Freemen's School Association (FSA) is a registered charity run by parents. The aims are to raise money to use within the School to further the development of the pupils, to provide a social framework for parents and members of staff, and to facilitate the Parents’ Forums.

The FSA raises funds for the School to purchase extra equipment and provide additional opportunities. Recently purchased equipment has included camera and video equipment, an A1 printer, and adventure playground equipment. The FSA Enrichment Award has also been introduced for Sixth Form students.

The FSA organises social events such as the Summer Ball, the Christmas Fair, and the Friday teahouse, where parents get together over a drink and a cake whilst waiting for the children to finish school.

The Nearly New shop for uniform and kit is also run by the FSA and is situated in Philp House.

The shop is open 2 or 3 times a term, and twice in the Summer holidays. Opening times are publicised under Year Group Notices, as well as in GTBR and ITB.

The FSA is managed through the FSA Council which meets on a regular basis and is made up of both parents and School staff.

 Each year group is represented on the committee by two reps. In addition to organising year group social activities, the reps communicate year group ideas and issues via the Parents' Forums.
