Freemen’s Highly Commended in BASE National Final

For the second year running students from the Economics and Business Department have reached the National final of the ICAEW sponsored BASE Competition.
Mimi A, Sarah, Natalia W and Annabel W were one of 48 teams from over 1500, representing 500 schools that started the journey back in October.
In the regional round the girls were required to take part in an online game and prepare a presentation based on the challenge given, success in this saw them progress to the final where working alongside business mentor Deborah Harris, they were given 2 hours to analyse huge amounts of data and put forward a proposal for a potential business in Ghana. The team was then required to present their findings to a panel of judges. With enthusiasm and confidence they worked to deliver their key themes of female empowerment, sustainability and equality to impress the judges and achieve a highly commended award along with a day out with employers sponsored by ICAEW.
