Conrad Parks: "I wasn't a fan of Spanish and now it is a passion"

Conrad Parks gained 9 A* and 1 A in his GCSEs.

Conrad is "jubilant and euphoric" after he received his excellent GCSE results.

"I've really enjoyed GCSEs," he explains. "You get to go into greater detail and the teachers are very supportive. They want the best for you and make learning more fun."

As an example, Conrad reveals that he was not fan of Spanish until Senior School, when there was a Spanish Exchange and he met two Spanish boys. "I visit them every Summer and we have become best friends. I love Spain and Spanish is a passion."

Conrad Parks celebrates his A Level results

He will study Spanish at A Level along with Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Economics and is excited about the courses.

"I love the Spanish language and culture and at A Level, we study film and literature. In Maths, I loved problem solving and there will be harder sums, which is great. I've read a lot of Economics books already."

Time management has been a challenge, but Conrad has tried not to get stressed, even though he has been busy this year, including playing rugby, silver and bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and directing Year 8 in Romeo and Juliet at the Leatherhead Theatre.

"I am so thankful that Miss Warburton allowed me the opportunity," he acknowledges. "I got to know the Junior School and introduce them to Senior drama. I think it is so important that a range of years get involved in drama."

Conrad will use this experience in the Sixth Form, when he becomes Drama Captain of Hale: "There is some great up and coming talent I can give a shot to."
