Lower Six A-Level students visit Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford
On the hottest day of our summer, half term L6 A level Art students visited the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford. The Pitt Rivers Museum displays archaeological and ethnographic objects from all parts of the world and all time periods and its collection is in a league of its own.
A cathedral of cultures, packed with glass cabinets crammed with objects collected from all over the world, there a displays devoted to the artefacts of funeral rites, musical instruments, body piercings, boats, armour, locks and keys, dance masks, textiles and so much more
Our four artists spent a day of research at the museum to develop ideas for their final A-level unit of coursework. We look forward to seeing their creative outcomes inspired by this wonderful museum.
