Our Independent Living Programme offers Year 13 students the opportunity to experience living independently and managing day-to-day tasks before moving away from home. You will be given the chance to gain skills which will prepare them for life after Freemen’s.

Situated at the top of Main House, the Independent Living Suite consists of four bedrooms, three bathrooms (including one accessible one) and a common area – complete with kitchen facilities and a lounge space. This means that eight students can become residents for the week, learning to adapt to life away from home before leaving for the world outside the school gates.

Life After Freemen's

  • The entire experience is designed to encourage students to prepare for independent living and to proactively learn skills that will benefit them in adult life.
  • There will be an expectation on you to do things for yourselves, from cooking and cleaning to ensuring you’re ready for the school day each morning.
  • There will always be support available, day or night, with a Boarding House staff on-call.
