Upper 6 Economists' afternoon at Jefferies Investment Bank

Upper 6 Economists spend time at Jefferies Investment Bank
The Upper 6 Economists were invited to spend the afternoon with Jefferies Investment Bank in their London headquarters in Upper Thames Street in September. The afternoon began with a talk from Mr Michael French, Managing Director and Head of International Treasury and Fixed Incomes, he explained the current challenges facing Jefferies and other investment banks as a result of the decision to leave the EU.
This was then followed by a number of senior employees in Jefferies explaining their role and the key roles of departments within the investment bank such as Equities and Fixed Incomes. The afternoon ended with students visiting the trading floor and speaking to traders who were dealing with the aftermath of Teresa May's decision to request a transition period following UK's EU exit.
