Medical
The School has a well-equipped medical centre which is staffed by experienced, registered nurses.
The nurses are available to provide a clinically effective, high quality service of nursing care for all members of the school community. Health promotion, education, injury, minor illness and chronic illness management are all part of the school nurses' role. The nurses are also available on a pastoral level to help the children throughout their school day.
The Medical Centre is open from 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday during term time.
The nursing team are:
- Miss Kate Lynch, School Nurse Manager
- Miss Elizabeth Holmden, School Nurse Manager
- Mrs Diana Carter, School Nurse
- Mrs Priscilla Mills, School Nurse
The nurses can be contacted on 01372 822451 or at medical@freemens.org.
All of our boarding students are registered with a local medical practice in Ashtead Village. Day pupils should be registered with a practice local to their home.
The School has a counsellor, Lucy Douglas, who offers a drop-in service in a private counselling room within the medical centre once a week. Booked appointments can also be arranged by contacting Lucy on 01372 822451 or at counsellor@freemens.org. Pupils are able to talk through any concerns in a safe and confidential environment.
