District Athletics Success for the fourth year running
Personal Best's and fantastic achievements all round!
Despite the unpredictable weather Freemen’s pupils had another hugely successful day at the Central Surrey Athletics Championships held at the David Weir Stadium last week.
For the 4th year running the Junior Girls Team comprising of pupils from U3, L4 & U4 we were crowned District Champions fending off strong competition from 12 other local schools. The strength and depth of our athletes was evidenced in the final results which showed we were the only team to score points in every event both on the track and in the field. Particular mention must however go to our new District Champions - Hermione F - 300m & Brooke T - 800m and Jonti - High Jump.
The Inter Girls (L5) also had a very successful day, finishing a creditable 5th overall with Lily P - 800 and Triple Jump, and Kiera V - 1500m also being crowned District Champions in their events.
In the boys, Ed O was 5th 100m & 1st in shot, Theo C was 2nd in 1500m & 2nd 800m
and Josh B was 5th 200m.
The team to represent the District at the Surrey Schools Champions which takes place on Saturday 8th June was selected after this competition and we are very proud of boys and girls who have been selected.
Following on from this event, the Surrey County Championships took place this weekend. Congratulations to all those Freemen's pupils who were selected by their clubs to take part in this event and a special mention to Lily P who took double silver in the 800m & triple jump.
