Marnie: "Freemen's has been my home away from home"

Marnie achieved A* in Religious Studies and Psychology and an A in History.

Marnie achieved a great set of results with A* in Religious Studies and Psychology and an A in History.

“I feel amazing. I didn’t’ sleep at all last night and was nervous about the uncertainty of the future. I feel so happy now.” Marnie will now head to Oxford University to study Philosophy & Theology. “I’m looking forward to getting out of my comfort zone and meeting new people.”

Marnie joined Freemen’s in Form 1 and will miss the people and the atmosphere when she leaves. “Freemen’s is my home away from home and has given me a lot of confidence, constantly motivating me to keep going. Teachers have always been so supportive in preparing for university and encouraging us to make our mental health a priority.”

Marnie’s biggest highlights include all the school trips and simply “hanging out” at the Sixth Form Centre. “There have been ups and downs. My advice to next year’s students would be to not spend your whole time in the library. You need to get out. Work hard but make sure that there’s a balance.”
