District Cross Country Success

Top performances by a number of Freemen's pupils

Tuesday afternoon saw a number of Freemen's pupils competing in the annual District Cross Country. With places in the Central Surrey Team up for grabs, the runners ran through thick mud, up and down hills, round Nonsuch Park. All the Freemen's runners ran fantastically leading to some excellent results, which included, the Year 7 mixed team being 2nd overall, under 17 boys 3rd overall, and the under 17 and under 15 girls winning the competition.

Special mention must go to P. Moilliet who was 1st in the under 12 boys race and B. Carr who was 8th in the same race. C. Royle and A. Turner who were 6th and 8th respectively in the under 15 girls race and J. Valkenburg who was 2nd in the boys. In the under 17 girls race, B. Taylor was 1st, K. Valkenburg 2nd, K. Bunyard 5th, C. Fakkel 8th and H. Ford 11th. In the under 17 boys, T. Cheshire must be congratulated for his 2nd place also.

A huge congratulations to all the runners involved and we wish good luck to all those runners who will now compete at the next round of the competition in Reigate Park on Saturday 18th January.
