Second annual Jersey Tour a hit!

A mixture of results from the teams but lots of happy & tired Freemen's boys & girls

Over half term the Under 13 girls and boys returned to Jersey for a second year for an Sports Tour.

On the day of arrival we stopped at the hotel for a quick check in and the boys then headed off to Victoria College for a football match, whilst the girls made their way to the indoor courts at Les Ormes to face Convent Netball Club. A mixture of results from both groups but lots of happy tired faces returned to the hotel for dinner and an early night.

The next day the boys headed off to Jersey Rugby club for a training session in anticipation of their weekend fixtures whilst the girls headed to Jersey Girls’ College for a triangular netball fixture which included another touring side, Windlesham House. After a quick change and a bite of lunch we all met up for a really interesting afternoon exploring the Jersey War Tunnels.

Saturday saw the boys face Jersey Rugby Club in a closely contested match while the girls travelled to Les Quennevais for a hockey tournament, where the B’s were the winners of their event. In the afternoon the boys used up their remaining energy in the hotel’s Aquadome whilst the girls fitted in an extra netball match against another touring side – Great Walstead. Wins all round for the girls meant that the U13A netball team were undefeated on the tour and were complimented by all their opposition on the high quality of their play.  Dinner and a movie night ended a very busy day!

On our final morning the boys faced a different opposition at Jersey Rugby club, coming away with a great win after another tough match, whilst the girls met up with the girls from Great Walstead once again, this time for a hockey triangular with Jersey hockey. Once again the might B’s were the winners of the B team tournament.

A fantastic trip, hopefully to be repeated again in the future.
