Oxford University French Fiction Success
Upper 5 receives ‘Highly Commended’ for entry to the Oxford University French flash-fiction competition
As a national competition organised by Oxford University Modern Languages department, students were invited to submit a short story of 100 words or fewer on a topic of their choosing. The story had to be written in French. There were two categories of entry : one for students in Years 7-11, and another for students in Years 12-13. Entries were judged on imagination and creativity, as well as linguistic ability. There were over 800 entries in Joshua’s age category, so his award of ‘Highly commended’ is a great achievement.
