Army Summer Camp

Every year the cadets get the opportunity to attend a week-long summer camp on a military base within the UK and sometimes overseas. Typically, this will be the first week (Saturday to Saturday) after the end of the academic year for Freemen's cadets, which is usually the week prior to enrichment week for Glyn cadets.

We like to try and work the camp locations out on a 3-year rotation, between:

  • The cadets’ favourite Central Camp
  • A random/different Central Camp
  • Our own unit run camp, possibly with another local CCF

This is an exciting opportunity for the cadets to work with other cadets from other CCF schools, and to be trained by some regular/reserve soldiers from the British Army. Activities will include Live Firing, a Field Training Exercise (FTX) and the obstacle course; amongst other exciting events. Not forgetting that they will be accommodated in barracks and will receive '3 square meals' per day. It's not quite up to the Ritz standard, but it is a proper ‘Army’ camp which all adds to the excitement of the cadet experience.

The next Army summer camp will be held at:

Barry Buddon Training Camp, near Dundee over the period 6th – 13th July 2019
