Design & Technology

The Model Railway Club is for pupils in Years 6-13.

We are currently building a model railway based on a cross section of the Pennine hills in Yorkshire. This has involved working out the contours for the scenery, building up the structure including the viaduct, producing the scenery, for example trees from scratch, producing detailed models and laying track.

The Young Engineers’ Club is a very popular club open to pupils in Years 7-10. We design and build electric cars which are then used to compete in the Greenpower competition and race the cars at various circuits around the country. We currently have two cars, with one more being developed.

We have raced at Rockingham, Goodwood and Dunsfold, home of the Top Gear test track. We have also reached the National final three times with our highest placing being 24th out of 300 schools.
