Freemen's Global Summer School vacancies

This summer Freemen’s Global will deliver our first International Summer School – “Freemen’s Futures”.  The programme has a holistic focus, and it is aimed at international students aged 14-18 with varying levels of English.  The three-week programme includes an impressive range of activities and some exciting excursions. Students will attend for either 2 or 3 weeks and will be able to ‘tailor’ their ‘journey’ depending on their age and stage of education.

The programme will take place from 23th July – 12th August 2023. Staff may work for two or three weeks to suit your plans, and will receive a full induction programme as well as a debrief period after the school concludes.  The dedicated Summer School website provides details of the programme and prospectus.

Most of the 14 – 18 year old students will come from or via our existing Partners in Italy, Germany, Korea, Tanzania with others likely to join from China, Hong Kong and Macau.  They’ll have varying degrees of English language skills but share a desire to improve these and to aim for UK based Higher Education.

Details of Roles

General

The nature of a 24 hour a day, 7 days per week summer school requires staff to work flexibly.  The work is intense, days are long and whether on or off duty, staff are expected to put the needs of the pupils and the reputation of the school first.  However, it is extremely rewarding and enables staff to develop their knowledge and skills in a vibrant, energetic workplace.  The Summer School team will put together an appropriate work schedule or rota to ensure that between all of us we cover the extended day and provide a safe a secure environment for the students.

All roles will require enhanced DBS clearance and will undergo appropriate safeguarding and induction training.

A blend of skills and activity experience will be sought from across the staff recruited.  Flexibility will be essential for all staff and a willingness to work hard and creatively to ensure that the pupils have a fulfilling and enjoyable time is critical.  House Parent, Head of House and Activity Leader roles are all residential and accommodation will be provided.
