Salary £36,850 to £41,900 pa inclusive

The School’s Digital Services Department seeks to appoint an IT Helpdesk Supervisor to lead and manage our IT Helpdesk team to provide technical support to staff and students across the school.

Increasing reliance on IT across teaching, learning and administration coupled with the need to sustain international distance learning services means that the support for our users is ever more important.  Our services are largely cloud based through Office 365 and SAAS based business systems, supported by HP Aruba networking and Windows / VMWare server platforms.

All our pupils from age 7 to 16 use iPads with over 800 on-site each day, and the 6th form students a more flexible BYOD approach.  Teachers make extensive use of iPads in teaching and we sustain over 500 windows devices for staff and specialist student use.  Our investment in X20’s immersive learning suites continues to grow and adds extended hours requirements for students overseas.

The school’s IT team are responsible for the design, implementation, operation, support, and continual improvement of all aspects of IT.  Following an internal promotion, we now seek an experienced supervisor to manage our small help desk team.  You will split your time between coaching and managing two technicians, delivering hands on technical support, and improving the way we work.  The role offers the potential to develop both your technical and management skills and a great foundation for further progression.  With the right attitude and attributes this could present an excellent first step into management.

Normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, however the successful incumbents will be expected to be flexible and work additional hours depending on the School’s requirements.  Some out of hours cover flexibility is required.  Salary is on the City of London Corporation Grade D from £36,850 to £39,800 per annum inclusive, with the potential to increase to £41,900 per annum subject to performance.
