Languages

Italian club is for all pupils in Years 9-13 for pupils who would like to learn Italian.

It is intended for beginners but those who already have a smattering of Italian are welcome to join too.

LangMag is a languages magazine produced by the Modern Languages Department.

It is open to speakers of all foreign languages and we are particularly keen to have contributions in Chinese. Budding journalists are invited to write an article on a topic of their choice. Our last publication had contributions in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Chinese. We are hoping for our first Latin contribution this year!

German, French and Spanish conversation classes are supervised by our Foreign Language Assistants.

They provide an opportunity for our Senior pupils to practise their language skills in an informal setting.

European Bookclub is a brand new club.

It's a reading circle to encourage pupils to read and discuss European literature. Each month, a new text will be selected and introduced by the Modern Languages Department  for discussion at the next meeting. The texts, by European authors,  will be read and discussed in English so that students from a variety of subject areas can get involved.
