Freemen’s School is a leading and prestigious independent school based in 60 acres of grounds in Ashtead, Surrey. Our IT department provides and supports excellent IT facilities for our staff and students, with every pupil having either an iPad or laptop and a wide range of facilities including computing and music Mac suites, interactive screens and conference rooms.
We’re looking for a Senior Support Engineer who will guide the IT support staff to provide excellent support, coaching and training to all our users, as well as taking a lead on developing classroom technologies. You’ll need to have a wide range of administration technical skills with a larger emphasis around an Apple eco-system, with the JamF MDM at the centre.
Excellent skills with the Office 365 environment are also highly desirable, especially with Teams and OneNote, along with strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, AV equipment, interactive screens, cloud services, and supporting infrastructure. We’ll provide both formal and on the job training in more specialist technologies, such as Firewalls, conference facilities, and other bespoke services. You’ll have a key role in supporting the administration of all our systems.
You will need to demonstrate a passion for customer support and for getting things done. Experience in training or coaching users would be great, and anything you can add as a project manager or in process improvement would be a real bonus.
Normal working hours are 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, however you will be expected to be flexible and work additional hours depending on the school’s requirements. Some out of hours cover flexibility may be required.
