Surrey Championship Athletics Success

Congratulations to our students who took part in the Surrey Athletics Championships at the weekend.

On Saturday 7 September and Sunday 8 September, a number of students from the School took part in the Surrey Athletics Championships at the David Weir Leisure Centre in Carshalton, Surrey.

The weekend focussed on multi events; pentathlon, decathlon, steeplechase and relays.

On Saturday, Kiara from Upper 5 was crowned U17 Girls Steeplechase Champion, while Bethan from Lower 4 earned her team a silver medal in the U13 girls 4x100m relay.

On Sunday, head boy, Adam was in action in both the U20 4x100m and 4x400m relays, and on both occasions managed to anchor his team home to the silver medal.

In the afternoon Lily and Kiara combined with two of their club teammates to race in the U17 girls 4x100m and earned the silver medal.

Their final relay of the weekend was the U20 4x400m race. Not only did they earn the gold medal, but due to Lily’s 60 second anchor leg, they set a county record.

Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations on their medal success.
