School uniform and, for the Sixth Form, a professional dress code, makes an important contribution to the ethos of the School. It gives pupils a sense of identity and puts them in the right frame of mind to learn and to give of their best. It is also important that pupils maintain a high standard of uniform when in the public eye travelling to and from the School.

FSA Nearly-Second Hand Uniform Shop
The Freemen’s School Association runs an on-site Second Hand Uniform Shop selling uniform and sports kit and equipment. We are located in Philp House (between the main car park and the School, the entrance is opposite the bus stop) and we open several times a term for sale of second-hand uniform and kit items. Our prices are pitched significantly lower than for new uniform – remember to check here first! We are always looking for volunteers to help with sorting and pricing, or with running the sales on our sale days.
The second hand uniform shop will be open on the following dates between 11am and 12.30pm:
Saturday 19th June
Other dates across the summer holiday will be announced shortly
In order to keep everyone COVID safe, please follow the procedures below when visiting the shop:
- We ask anyone entering the shop to please wear a face covering and gloves;
- Only two or three adults in the shop at any one time;
- No children are allowed in the shop;
- Please observe social distancing regulations and the queueing system;
- Unfortunately, it is not possible for children to try clothes on;
- Card only transactions (no cash);
- In order to allow as many parents access to the shop as possible, we are limiting shop visits to 15minutes per visitor.
Thank you for your forbearance.
Parents wishing to sell uniform: Please note the following:
The shop sells only current uniform and sports kit. We also accept sports equipment and footwear in good condition.
50% of the sales proceeds are donated to the FSA and 50% returned to the seller. Should you wish to donate the full proceeds, please stipulate "FSA donation".
For any items for sale, please attach a completed label (see pdf below) with a safety pin. We also sell safety pins in the shop - £2 for a box of 30.
Uniform, kit and equipment for sale can be left with the Gatehouse staff at any time, or dropped into the shop when open, and will then be priced ready for the next sale.
The shop reserves the right to dispose of uniform which is unfit for sale, or which remains unsold after one year. Download the labels below.
