BEST Society welcomes David Hussey
An introduction to the role of investors in wider capital Markets
BEST society was delighted to welcome David Hussey a parent of a student at Freemen’s, to discuss the role of investors and finance. Mr Hussey is an accountant by training and later went on to become a portfolio manager with many years of specialising in global equities.
Mr Hussey spoke about the role of and types of investor as well as the role of capital. He shared with students what he believed to be a good investment and a bad investment – referencing commodities such as bitcoin and tulips! Thoughts on the external influences were also shared as well as what makes a good investor.
Unfortunately we ran out of time for questions so we are hoping Mr Hussey will be return in the Summer term as the Lower 6 Economists start to embark on the Finance unit of their Economics A level.
