Libby: "Strong teaching supported me through my academic journey"

Libby achieved A* in Maths and Music as well as an A in Art

“I feel really good about it all. I didn’t expect these results for Music, so I'm very pleased.”  Libby had an unconditional offer to study Music at Birmingham University and as a result, wasn’t too worried about her results. "It definitely helped to take the pressure off.”

Libby looks forward to expanding her horizons within a subject at University. She joined Freemen’s in Form 1 and is thankful for the strong teaching and supported provided by Freemen’s through her academic journey. “My parents chose Freemen’s because they knew that I could do what I wanted and combine courses – we couldn’t have managed this anywhere else.”

Libby says she will miss the Music and Art departments the most. “I feel at home in Music and Art – it is like a little family.”

Her biggest challenges during her time at Freemen’s involved getting the hang of the work load and doing what was required to boost grades. “Balancing the workload and emotional space was definitely a challenge.”

Her advice to future students is to put the work in, but to also "pay attention to your physical and mental health as that should always be your priority, which is supported at School."
