Tom: "A rounded education outside of A levels”

Tom gained A* in Physics and Mathematics, A in Religious Studies and B in Further Mathematics
Delighted with his A level grades, Tom is excited to be off to his first choice university – Bristol – to study Physics and Philosophy.
Having been at Freemen’s since Form 1 when he joined as a seven-year old, Tom is looking forward to studying his chosen degree subjects in more detail. “I’m also relishing the new adventure and extra independence that university will bring.”
He is feeling prepared for life beyond Freemen’s, having enjoyed the support the School has provided during Sixth Form.
“Being Head of School has given me the confidence to pursue new opportunities as they arise. Having taken on a leadership role in School and with encouragement from teachers, I feel that I could take on these opportunities at university and in the workplace.
“Being at Freemen’s is so much more than achieving great A level grades – I feel that I am leaving with a rounded education due to all of the extra-curricular opportunities that taken advantage of.”
Being prepared for the exams is just part of life at Freemen’s.
“My advice to students starting out on their A level courses this September is to start revision early but also to carve out time to do other things away from your studies. Maintain a balance, keep up your social life and prioritise your well-being. If you are studying subject you enjoy the grades will come.”
